Don't Break Into My Home, Dude!

+ Keep everything locked up - this includes doors and windows, fence gates, garages, sheds, and keep your tools picked up so that a thief cannot use them to break your windows and doors


+ Break down your trash - the big box that you put on the street curb proudly displays the name of the latest expensive electronic device that you have installed in your home --- and is an open invitation to thieves!  


+ Keep your landscape well maintained - big bushes and hedges near your home provide a hiding place for bad guys!  And sticker bushes under the windows could help too!


+ Let there be light! - lots of light could deter thieves.  Motion detector lights placed above the reach of a bad guy are a good idea.


+ Get a security alarm - you could also qualify for an insurance discount if you use a centrally monitored security service.  There are a number of reasonably priced monitored alarm systems available -- and be sure you post the sign in your yard and on your windows that your home is monitored.
